A respected American entrepreneur and philanthropist, Eric Lefkofsky has become a well-respected name in the world of business. The co-founder and CEO of Tempus, Lefkofsky proved he knows how to build and sustain a business. Lefkofsky is a native of Michigan. His parents set a great standard for him as he grew up. His mother was a school teacher and his father was a structural engineer. He followed their example of hard work by attending the University of Michigan where he graduated with honors in 1991. From there he graduated from University of Michigan Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor. Lefkofsky would soon begin creating his own company. He collaborated with his longtime friend Brad Keywell. The two borrowed money from start an apparel company called Brandon Apparel.
Lefkofsky and Keywell would continue on with several other businesses. In the late 90’s the duo created an Internet company called Starbelly. After Starbelly, the duo co-founded InnerWorkings. In early 2007 Lefkofsky co-founded and provided more than $1,000,000 for a company called Thepoint.com. This was an online collective action website. The company continued to grow and eventually became known by the more popular Groupon. Groupon was a major worldwide success. The company was so successful that Google attempted to purchase offering more than $6 billion dollars.
